The smile you gave me will live forever,
From the ticket seller at the booth,
To the man who drove me home,
From the strangers that I greeted,
To the mirrors that I own.
The playmate to my lips,
That asked my teeth to come outside,
Or to run along the riverbeds,
That line the corners of my eyes.
The smile you gave me
Was a sunrise on my back,
A shining moon sliver,
A light source that I lacked.
Smile, dear, smile forever,
And even if you don’t,
The smile that you gave to me,
Has been loosed upon the world.
