Poem for T.

Dearest, you’re a year older
You’re wiser, stronger, bolder,
Your heart is sturdier,
You’re less afraid,
You’re reaping treasures
For time you’ve paid.
So smile wide
And breathe in deep
All loves and dreams
Are yours to keep.
So keep loving and keep dreaming,
Keep growing and believing,
Keep getting older and bolder,
Keep getting sweeter, less bitter.
And finally, when all is said and done
When you’re done growing and you are fully grown,
When the road is peaceful without any bends
You’ll look to each side and know you were

Because, dear love, you’ll have nothing but friends.
